SEATTLE — There is great disagreement and even hostility among differing political factions in America.
One thing we can all agree on is our opposition to the murderous and barbaric regime in Iran which has killed 120,000 of its own citizens since taking over in 1979 and caused violent conflict throughout the Middle East in Libya, Yemen, Iraq, Syria and elsewhere in its attempts to take control of the entire Middle East under tyrannical and autocratic religious rule.
Now there is a real and tangible option being offered as a new government in Iran by the National Council of Resistance of Iran (NCRI).
Led by Madame Maryam Rajavi, this organization has grown in stature and respect over the years and has offered an option of peaceful government living as a civilized neighbor to other countries in the Middle East.
They have a 10-point plan that Rudy Giuliani has described as being a remake of our U.S. Constitution. It commits to a non-nuclear Iran, rejects support for terrorism in other nations, advocates peaceful co-existence with all of its neighbors, gender equality and other democratic principles such as free elections and separation of mosque and state.
I have had the opportunity to attend the last two annual Free Iran conferences in 2018 and 2019. On each occasion, these two-day events had a broad range of prominent public officials attend and speak in support of the NCRI as the new transitional government for Iran to replace the barbaric dictatorship of Ayatollah Ali Khamenei.
The prominent leaders at the recent event on July 11 and 12 at Ashraf 3 in Albania included former New York City Mayor Rudy Giuliani, former U.S. Senators Joe Lieberman and Robert Torricelli, former FBI Director Louis Freeh, first Homeland Security Secretary Tom Ridge and hundreds of other former ambassadors, cross-party legislators and other public officials from Europe, Asia, South America, and Africa. Ashraf 3 is the place of residence for members of the main Iranian opposition movement, the People’s Mojahedin Organization of Iran (PMOI/MEK). Members of the PMOI who were residing in Iraq and were victims of missile attacks and massacres by the Iranian regime were transferred to Albania following an extensive international campaign. They are currently residing in Ashraf 3.
These leaders gave passionate speeches in support of the NCRI which is a Parliament in Exile with more than 500 members. They are focused on establishing a democratic republic in Iran.
And every speaker from countries throughout the world agreed that the time for negotiating with the ruthless dictatorship in Iran is over and only a new peaceful government is the viable solution.
We in talk radio can help make this happen by exposing the horror of the present regime and the human values being seriously advocated by NCRI.
The NCRI offers a number of guests both from the political world of public officials and actual members of the community who can discuss the horrors of what the present regime is imposing on the Iranian citizens and why now is the time to make a peaceful change and transition to a new partner in Iran that will live in peace with its neighbors.
Great guests and compelling issues on this subject are available through the NCRI offices in Washington D.C. Please visit their website (ncrius.org) or contact: Ali Safavi, telephone: 571-224-5682, email: Safavi@ncrius.org; or Alireza Jafarzadeh, NCRIUS Deputy Director, telephone: 202-747-7847, email: Jafarzadeh@ncrius.org.
