The third annual Women’s March returned to Washington D.C. as thousands of activists gathered on Freedom Plaza on Pennsylvania Ave. and marched past the Trump International Hotel on Saturday January 19, demanding respect for women and protesting against President Donald Trump and his policies – one of several such protests around the country marking the 2nd anniversary of President Trump’s inauguration.

This year’s March came against the backdrop of a partial government shutdown, which began on Dec. 22 after President Trump refused to back down on his demand for over $5 billion in funding for a wall on the US southern border.
