Security Expert Outlines Changes to School Security

Akron, Ohio, (August 12 2014)…High-risk security expert and President of SACS Consulting Inc., a high-risk security consulting firm, Timothy Dimoff, CPP, has outlined several procedural changes relating to school security issues. In preparation of educational facilities beginning a new school year, security concerns are foremost in their minds and in the minds of the media. The changes to school shootings responses include reducing police response time to less than 10 minutes, officers entering the building immediately instead of working from the perimeter, improvements to physical security, special window film that prevents a shooter from shooting out windows in able to open locked doors, new methods of lockdowns, teacher training, and more. "Neutralizing the shooter has become the imperative, and it comes before first aid. Officers are trained to walk over people to get to the assailant", Dimoff says.

Dimoff's work is concentrated on workplace crime and violence, school crime and violence, as well as other high-risk security issues. He is a nationally recognized speaker and trainer for corporations, businesses, government, law enforcement, public agencies, industry and educational facilities. He is also a TASA (Technical Advisory Services of America) board certified legal expert in police and in corporate security procedures and training. He has written six books, including Life Rage, a chilling examination of societal rage and safeguards against it.

Dimoff was featured in an article in the August 2014 issue of the International ASIS's (American Society for Industrial Security) Security Management magazine entitled "Reviewing Lessons on School Safety" (http://securitymanagement.com/print/13575) which outlines programs, physical security improvement, and training programs that schools are utilizing to defend against potential active-shooter situations.

Dimoff was also interviewed by the Chicago Tribune for an upcoming article on school security and was also featured in a special news segment on Channel 5 (WEWS TV), Cleveland, OH, on what has been done and what still need to be one to improve educational facility security.
