 MEMBER SPOTLIGHTS
ABE CARNOW, CPA, Treasurer of GLAC.
I speak nationwide on taxation. One participant emailed me in January 2012: "This Orlando Seminar is the first time I have had the opportunity to hear you speak. I am very impressed with your knowledge and affability and your concern for your audience. You had so much great knowledge and yet could communicate it so clearly to your audience! Some of the speakers may have great knowledge, but they speed by sort of uninvolved with their audience and it is hard to comprehend all that they are saying. Thank you."
I have been teaching for Gear Up Tax Seminars since 1990, keeping a very busy schedule. In addition to my nationwide speaking, I also perform two vital functions for my taxation clients: I keep my clients out of trouble and, for those who come to me in trouble, I get them out of trouble. A recent client, who came to me with a tax problem, wrote: "Thanks for all your help and counsel Abe. You were a solid voice of reason." Isn't it interesting that the praise is expressed as "voice of reason". Makes you think about how our speaker personality defines us, even in our non-speaking work.
Let me share with you, in just a few minutes, how attending our GLAC meetings helps me show concern for the audience and why you should never sign your tax return on the first day of April!

JUDITH PARKER HARRIS, GLAC Past President, Founder of March Media Mania
Health Detective to the World
In 1985 I was running a multi-million dollar advertising agency in a workaholic frenzy when I was stopped in my tracks by a life-threatening illness, Multiple Sclerosis. I started searching for answers in all the wrong places. Truth was, I had to find them within. That's when I became the Health Detective with a mission - to help as many people, companies and organizations as possible solve crimes affecting the health of their lives, loves, and livlihoods.

During our GLAC meeting, you'll learn the "Who, What, Why, When, Where" of problem solving as well as how to disarm your greatest enemy - your thoughts and emotions.

How many ideas do you carry inside of you that could attack you? When the stats don't add up and your gut says investigate, ask a lot of questions, then ask some more. Shine the flashlight on your thoughts and emotions and solve the crime that threatens the future you seek.

Judith is the expert on getting companies and their work forces un-stuck as they learn to communicate, produce, and create to maximum potential in a way that is meaningful to the rest of their lives. Former owner of a multi-million dollar advertising agency, Judith Parker Harris wrote, produced and directed over 3,000 television commercials for clients like Sears & Roebuck and Shell Oil and pioneered brand advertising for national healthcare chains. Her meteoric rise to the top almost crashed, when she became seriously BLOCKED by the partial paralysis and sight loss of Multiple Sclerosis. Judith grabbed hold of recovery and used it to write an entirely new life for herself. Symptom-free since 1990, Judith became the Health Detective and created a 5-step process that takes clients from victim to victor as they move from BLOCKED to BLOCK-BUSTER. (her latest book) She combines feature film production with her quest to put others on their Block-Buster paths as she disarms audiences of negative thoughts and emotions that can hold them hostage.
