Saudi Basic Industries has agreed to pay Edelman $5.6M in professional fees for strategic communications services surrounding the G20 Summit that is slated for Riyadh, Saudi Arabia from November 20-21.
The G20 session brings leaders of both developed and developing countries who represent 80 percent of the globe’s economic output and three-quarters of international trade.
Themed “Realizing Opportunities of the 21st Century for All,” The Riyadh forum will discuss three financial & socioeconomic themes: empowering people, safeguarding the planet and shaping new frontiers.
King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud promises to use the G20 platform to announce Saudi Arabia’s pursuit of a new cooperative environment for the G20 and progress that it made under the Saudi Vision 2030 plan to modernize society and diversify the country's economic base.
Edelman, which has estimated $1M-plus in expenses for the SABIC program, will provide overall support for G20-related events, media relations, content development, social media and stakeholder engagement.
The agreement went into effect this month and will run through January. A formal contract is not yet available.
