Ready Responders

Heather Podesta's Invariant is working Washington for Ready Responders as the on-demand, at-home non-emergency healthcare provider seeks to expand its marketing reach to help ease strain on hospitals during the COVID-19 crisis.

The New Orleans-based firm raised nearly $50M last month via financing from Google Ventures and Deerfield Management to bankroll its expansion beyond southeastern Louisiana, Las Vegas and Reno.

It has targeted New York, Maryland, California and Texas for pushes..

The company says its team of doctors and nurse practitioners connected via tele-health to on-the-scene paramedics and EMTs can keep people suffering from high blood pressure, arthritis, and fever out of emergency and hospital rooms.

Podesta, who worked for Sen. Bill Bradley of New Jersey, heads the Invariant team.

She's joined by Benjamin Klein, who was legislative director for Sen. Byron Dorgan (D-ND); Katie Wise, aide to Rep. Vern Buchanan (R-FL); and Annabell McWherter, staffer for Sen. Johnny Isakson (R-GA).
