Talking World War II and the 761st Tank Battalion, “The Black Panthers at War,” with Maggie Linton on The Maggie Linton Show @LintonMaggie on SiriusXM radio, live, 10:30-11:00 Wed. (Tomorrow)
Today spoke live with Faune Riggen, KZIM/KSIM (CBS) St. Louis. Twenty minutes flew. Love the back and forth of live radio. Had my first caller who asked about the Double V Campaign — a little-known homefront effort, but favorite topic of mine and it’s in the book. Nice way to wrap up the show.
If you read any of these items I put out, you may notice a.lack of public appearances. I no longer do speaking engagements. I fail to see the point of talking at people. I have done enough of them to know that’s how it seems to me.
Thursday, talkin’ with Buddy Poole, Charlotte, NC, WSAT-AM 9:20-9:30. (More 761st.)
Below the paperback cover and a portion the battalion from its Camp Claiborne, La., days.
The book, “The Black Panthers at War,” is exceptional. I may be partial, but I am also an historian, and it is well-researched and well-written. It is a narrative nonfiction like “Unbroken,” just a different topic.
