With the increased amount of white-collar crime convictions, a niche market for prison consulting has emerged. Like any other business, not all can be trusted and there are more criminal consultants to beware of then ever before. US Attorneys are cracking down on prison consulting fraud, a recent investigation lead to a major arrest with perhaps more to follow.

Three individuals from RDAP Law Consultants have been indicted and face a multitude of charges. Tony Tuan Pham A.K.A “Anh Nguyen.", Samuel Copenhaver and Constance Moreland were working under the name of RDAP Law Consultants while taking advantage of their clients and abusing the Residential Drug Abuse Program (RDAP). They coached desperate defendants who came to them for help, into performing unethical and illegal acts to qualify for the RDAP program. RDAP Law Consultants advised clients to pretend to have a drug and/or alcohol addiction in order to reduce their sentences. Their advice to defendants included, but was not limited to, showing up to court drunk, fraudulently obtaining prescriptions for drug withdrawal medication, like Suboxone, bringing said prescription/s when reporting to the Bureau of Prisons (BOP) to serve their prison term and once incarcerated, mimic withdrawal symptoms while in custody. All illegal acts that clients could be additionally charged with.

Dan Wise was ahead of the game with RDAP Law Consultants. He exposed them on his YouTube channel for what they were, long before the arrest took place. In the video below, watch Dan help a former RDAP Law Consultants client reveal Nguyen’s blatant malpractice, corruption and fraud.

When asked how to tell your Prison Consultant is a fraud, Dan said “It can be hard at first due to how new all of this is to the average. It is extremely important to do your own research prior to taking advice or making any decision. If it sounds too good to be true, it usually is.." Dan is a hardworking, ethical consultant that wants the best outcome possible for his clients. He gives experience and research-based advice to all clients at RDAPDan Federal Prison Consulting.

RDAP program entry can help inmates receive one year off their sentence, RDAP Law Consultants guaranteed an 18-month sentence reduction with their “consulting services.." The RDAP Law Consultants team was taking advantage of clients and their families by making faulty guarantees and suggesting defendants behave in a manner that could potentially lead them to additional charges. Dan of RDAPDan said “Bad advice can cost more than just the money you spent or the fact you will not be admitted into the program. Bad advice could possibly also lead to additional charges such as defrauding the government or the BOP. Individuals could end up serving additional time by creating or falsifying documents in order to receive a shorter sentence.."

The RDAP program is an intensive recovery program for inmates suffering from drug and/or alcohol addiction. It is a 9-month residetional program that prisoners participate in while incarcerated. They are immersed in a multitude of therapies that are followed-up with counseling sessions after release. Dan Wise of RDAPDan participated in the RDAP program and he said “The benefits of RDAP can vary from participant to participant. There is the obvious benefit of potential sentence reduction of 12 months once completing the 500-hour course. Many of the other benefits are seen once an individual allows the program to take hold. RDAP is more than just a substance abuse program. Substance abuse is what allows you to enter the program but once you are there you will come to find out that it goes much deeper. It is a CBT program. Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy. You are forced to take a hard look at what led you to this point. It focuses on making better choices and how you can identify poor choices. I use what I took from the program to try and help others achieve what I have achieved. It goes much deeper than just time off.."
