Books on Fixing the Criminal Justice System

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

American Leadership Books, headed up by author/publisher Paul Brakke, has been taking a leading role nationally in offering books, blogs, and videos on how to fix what's wrong with the criminal justice system.  The company tackles everything from reducing crime in the streets and supporting the efforts of law enforcement to combat crime and how to deal with illegal immigration and the opioid crisis.  It has been sharing its story through outreach to the media, through several weeks of daily postings on the social media, with a mailing to over 15,000 sheriffs and police chiefs, and through interviews on radio.

Now the company has begun taken its campaign to the local community, starting with a booth at the Danville Summerfest fair on June 23-24 in downtown Danville.  At these booths, a representative for American Leadership Books is featuring the company's six flagship books: The Costly U.S. Prison System, Dealing with Crime by Illegal Immigrants and the Opioid Crisis, Cops Aren't Such Bad Guys, Fixing the U.S. Criminal Justice System, The Price of Justice in America, and The Great National Divides.

Brakke's next books will deal with the problems facing policing today and what to do about the growing problem of illegal immigration and how to deal with families and kids.  Brakke's approach in writing all of these books is to cut through the emotional rhetoric on both sides of the political divide by backing up his discussion of what to do about different problems with facts, including Department of Justice stats and the opinions of recognized experts on the subject.  His is a welcome new voice that can bring deep understanding and rational thinking to coming up with sound resolutions that combine economics with social justice.

Based on these books, Brakke has been developing various programs to help professionals in law enforcement, government agencies, and political leaders apply the suggestions in his books, videos, and talks.  These programs offer different approaches for fixing the U.S. Criminal Justice system and the most critical issues facing it, such as the problems of illegal immigration, opioid use and abuse, and the controversy about prisons and prison reform.

For instance, his most recent book The Costly U.S. Prison System provides a careful, close-up look at what's wrong with the prison system and how to fix it from a conservative perspective that considers multiple factors.  These include cutting costs, returning prisoners to the community where possible, reducing the risk of recidivism, and keeping the community safe.   In Fixing the U.S. Criminal Justice System, Brakke takes a more global perspective in looking at the system as a whole.
