Publicis Records 17.1% Organic Growth in Q2

Publicis Groupe reported a 10.7 percent jump in Q2 revenues to $2.5B and 17.1 percent organic growth. “Not only did we fully recover the revenue lost in 2020, but all of our KPIs over the first half exceeded 2019 levels,” said CEO Arthur Sadoun.

The company’s U.S operations posted 15.2 percent organic growth for Q2, with its Epsilon data business growing 31 percent organically. (Earlier this month, Publicis acquired Australian retail media company CitrusAd, which will be placed within Epsilon.) PMX and Sapient both showed organic growth of over 25 percent.

Business was up in all regions. North America reported 15.1 percent organic growth with $1.53B in net revenue (up from $1.46B in 2020). Europe was up 24.3 percent, with a rise from $510M in net revenue for Q2 2020 to $634M in Q2 2021. Asia Pacific had 13.6 percent organic growth, with Middle East Africa recording 22.8 percent and Latin America 15.9 percent.

The company’s recovery was also strong across the first half of the year, with overall organic growth of 9.7 percent, and all individual regions showing gains.

Sadoun said that Publicis “topped new business rankings for the first half of the year, thanks to a strong run of wins.” He also noted that the company’s “ability to capture a disproportionate part of our clients’ investment in data and technology means we are in a position to upgrade our 2021 guidance.”

He predicts full-year organic growth of seven percent and an operating margin of 17 percent, barring “any major deterioration” surrounding the pandemic.
