The website PrintableWorldMap.net recently added two new batches of map designs, bringing the total of printable maps at the site to more than 250.
"This site has maps for learning, maps for research and even decorative maps," said Kevin Savetz, the site's creator. "The maps at PrintableWorldMap.net are free to download and print, making them ideal for teachers, parents and kids."
The site, which already has all of the continent maps plus country maps and regional maps, recently added new, improved maps of Greenland, Antarctica and Scotland.
The collection of constellation maps now includes Aquila, Andromeda, Bootes and many more. Each shows the configuration of stars along with the constellation name.
PrintableWorldMap.net has expanded to include decorative maps that can be printed out on cardstock or archival paper and framed. There are now 50 state maps that have a watercolor look with a cut-out heart in the vicinity of each state's capital.
Another new set of maps just added to the site is U.S. state and territory maps on which the counties, boroughs and wards are shown with light gray lines. They're ideal for reference for business and political purposes, or just for educating oneself on geography. They can also be labeled or colored in with pens or pencils.
PrintableWorldMap.net has both blank and labeled maps, plus versions with lines on which to fill in the names of countries or states.
The topical maps at the site are full-color and include: time zones, state flags, bodies of water, the Roman empire, the Oregon trail, wildlife habitat, major U.S. cities, and more.
The maps compliment the useful and educational classroom printables at TeachersPrintables.net and the printable paper designs at PrintablePaper.net.
"Teachers, parents and anyone interested in geography will enjoy these maps," Savetz said. "And they are each free to download and print."
The maps at PrintableWorldMap.net can be downloaded instantly in easy-to-open PDF files for free. There's also the option to purchase the entire map collection in one convenient download for just $9.
