More than two dozen new family tree and ancestry chart designs have been added to the website FamilyTreeTemplates.net, which has a broad selection of printables for everyone from kids to genealogists.
"The newest additions to this fun, helpful site include a holiday family tree, vintage-look ancestry charts, and genealogy research forms," said Kevin Savetz, the site's creator.
The holiday-themed family trees have graphics for Thanksgiving and Christmas, including designs kids can color in with crayons or markers. A colorful Christmas family tree has name spaces positioned below ornaments.
A new style of radial family trees has lines set atop an image of a tree stump, and there are versions with room to record up to eight generations.
I've also added a set of vintage-looking ancestry charts with a "parchment paper" background. Similar to the wedding family trees, these are suitable for framing.
New genealogy research forms include: an ancestor research checklist, blank passenger lists, a newspaper research log, a nicknames list and a research calendar.
A few months ago, large format family trees were added to the site. Those are designed in 24-by-36-inch poster size for printing at a copy shop or anywhere with a large-format printer.
"I'm proud that FamilyTreeTemplates.net has family trees to represent all kinds of families, including adoptive and foster families," Savetz said. "The new batch has an extended family tree with room to record multiple spouses over a lifetime."
There are now more than 300 designs at the site, including charts with room to record up to 12 generations of family members. There are even pet family trees.
Everything at FamilyTreeTemplates.net is free to download and print in PDF format, or $4 each for a DOC version that can be typed into in Microsoft Word, adding family members' names and vital statistics. (Some, such as the large-format and fan-shaped trees, are only available as free PDFs, due to design limitations.)
