4 Popular Dog Types

A new personality profiling system for understanding oneself and others has just been launched, and the system uniquely features popular dogs representing different personality types.  Initially the program has been designed to help business people get more clients and customers, improve relationships at work, and find jobs by better understanding the person they are relating to and adapting their approach accordingly.

For example, if the other person is a German Shepherd type, a strong goal driven leader, to persuade them to do something, get to the point quickly and show why this will be a big win for the company.  If the other person is a Pomeranian, a people-oriented person, start with some comments on any pictures of family members or a vacation trip in the office.  If he or she is a Golden Retriever, who likes to help and support others, emphasize how your product, service, or approach will help everyone.  And if you're dealing with a Border Collie, a conscious, detail-oriented individual concerned with the facts, provide supporting information, such as a report or stats, to back up what you are saying.

The WHAT'S YOUR DOG TYPE? system is featured in a series of seven books, workbook, guidebook for workshop facilitators, along with a website (www.whatsyourdogtype.com), Meetup group (www.meetup.com/whats-your-dog-type), Facebook group, and beginnings of a National Dog Type Association.  The books include: What's Your Dog Type? by Jana Collins and Gini Graham Scott, Using the Dog Type System for Success in Business and the Workplace, Discovering Your Dog Type, and many more by Gini Graham Scott, a Ph.D. sociologist who developed the system.

The workshops are led by Bryan Balch, a success coach, who leads programs for executives, and a coach in St. Louis, Douglas Birk, who is setting up a series of programs there.  While these first workshops are designed for work and business relationships, the system can be applied to gaining insights about oneself and improving relationships with others, as described in a series of self-help books, including Getting Help from Your Dogs, Getting Even More Help from Your Dogs, and Using the Dog System in Your Everyday Life.  The system has some parallels with other popular personality assessment tests, such as the DISC, Myers-Briggs, and 4-Color Personality Tests.

The next workshop in the Bay Area will be on October 2 from 7:30-9:30 at 140 Mayhew Drive, #100, in Pleasant Hill.  You'll experience an introduction to the program, along with some fun exercises with others to show how the system works -- and how you can determine the type of another person by asking a few questions.  Then, you can assess what they say and how they say it, along with some clues from what people are wearing.

Want to find out your own Dog Type and how to use it for more success in your life and business?  Call or email us for a press pass to this exciting new program.
