PRofessional Solutions, LLC, which, states its website, has been the D.C. area’s “temporary staffing agency of choice for experienced and hardworking communications professionals,” is closing at the end of October.

Simply put, states the website, “we are public relations experts. We are the only agency in DC that specializes in meeting the communications temporary staffing needs of area nonprofits, associations, government agencies, and corporations.

“PRofessional Solutions, LLC provides talented associates for part-time and full-time temporary assignments who have been meticulously screened for the skills our clients need.”

Kate Perrin, CEO, told Capitol Communicator that the firm she founded in 1994, has had a “great run” but, in recent months found that many of her firm’s clients, across the board, were laying off people.  She added that she loved being part of the PR community, but is disappointed that, because of the coronavirus, she can not hold a party to celebrate the firm’s many good years.

Perrin founded the company after working for 20 years in public relations and marketing communications for area associations and educational institutions.

In addition, her leadership roles with Washington Women in Public Relations include serving as the organization’s president and on the board, and chairing the first Washington PR Woman of the Year Award.  She also served on the board of the International Association of Business Communicators (DC chapter).  Perrin has been a frequent speaker at professional development events for these organizations and for the Public Relations Society of America’s National Capital Chapter.

She is also an active member of the Women’s Advisory Board of the Girl Scout Council of the Nation’s Capital, the Smithsonian Women’s Committee and the International Women’s Forum. In 2009, Perrin was honored with the Matrix Award from the DC chapter of the Association for Women in Communications.
