Internet dating has become one of the top ways people meet their spouses today. However, "Most people I have found make tons of mistakes when they are online dating", says dating and relationship coach Amy Schoen. She has been reviewing online dating profiles for her clients for over 8 years. Many of her clients have been successful meeting their partners or spouses online. Here are her top online dating tips for the top 5 mistakes to avoid:

1. Posting a picture that really doesn't put your best foot forward. 90% Amy tells her clients to get new photos for their online dating profiles. Also to add a picture if you haven't.

2. Writing in a demanding tone for your online dating essays. Keep your tone of the writing warm and friendly.

3. Writing a too brief of an online dating profile essay with no details can be a turnoff. Be playful and descriptive. Invite your readers into the experience you mention.

4. Limiting your distance range too close in. Be willing to put in your online dating profile a distance of at least an hour or two hour's drive.

5. Not being upfront about what their life goals are and what they are truly seeking. Be willing to put your true intentions out there!

"Most people are not good about writing about themselves. They leave out key information that will attract the right person to them", adds Amy. Coach Amy Schoen will be teaching a 6 week telephone and online dating program The Internet Dating Success coaching program starting July 12th. She gives her students the tools to write their own online dating profiles and date more effectively overall. Amy coaches singles to attract and keep a spouse in the near future without wasting precious time, energy and money. She is now happily married for almost 9 years and credits her quest for knowledge about how to find the right marriage partner and her work with a coach in helping her to realize this goal after a painful divorce in her mid 30's.

Aiming primarily at both female and male adults ages 35-55, both never married and divorced individuals, Coach Amy shares her insights in a variety of convenient ways: online web content-articles and her blog (www.MotivatedtoMarry.com), speeches and workshops, tele-classes, one-on-one and group coaching and her book, Get It Right This Time-How to Find and Keep Your Ideal Romantic Relationship available on both her website and Amazon.com. Her sage counsel is based on her own dating/relationship research - hundreds of respondents to her questionnaires - input from friends as well as her own life experiences.

Unlike most dating coaches, Amy is certified by the Coaches Training Institute of San Raphael, CA which is recognized as a top school by the International Coach Federation. Additionally, she holds an MBA from Georgetown University. Her coaching draws upon her intuition and relationship expertise as well as her business savvy. Amy has spoken to numerous professional organizations and social groups in the Washington DC area including the Professionals in the City, First Class, Learning Escapes, New Beginnings, American Women in Communications, Women Business Owners of Montgomery County and the eWomen Network, as well as the 92nd Street Y in New York City and the Mount Airy Learning Tree Center in Philadelphia. Author of Motivated to Marry - Now There is a Better Method for Dating and Relationships, Amy's freelance articles have been featured in Life After 50 (So. Cal Magazine), Washington Woman, Insight Magazine, the Washington Jewish Week and JDate. She has been quoted in such publications as the Washington Post, the Washington Business Journal, Bethesda Magazine, the Gazette Newspapers and entrepreneur.com and has been interviewed on WASH FM, WTOP-FM, WUSA TV, Channel 8 TV and the Fine Living cable channel. Amy's chapter on dating, "A Leap of Faith into Marriage" has been included in the book, 101 Great Ways to Improve Your Life, Vol. 2 published by SelfGrowth.com. She is currently writing an advice column for Viva Vienna magazine a regional Northern Virginia magazine.
