“Downsizing and Organizing Things to Do Before You Die” is the topic of Gail Rubin’s talk at the Prime Time 50+ Expo. The expo takes place from 8:00 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at the Embassy Suites Hotel, 1000 Woodward Place NE (just north of Lomas and west of I-25). Gail will be speaking between 11:00 a.m. to noon. In addition to discussing downsizing and end-of-life issues, she’ll talk about all the great activities taking place in Albuquerque during the inaugural Before I Die ABQ Festival, October 20-25, 2017.

Attendees can receive health info and screenings, enjoy live entertainment, have a refreshment, win prizes, and it’s all FREE!

As The Doyenne of Death®, Gail helps get end-of-life and funeral planning conversations started with a light touch on a serious subject. The author of three books on end-of-life issues, she’s also an award-winning speaker. She uses humor and funny films to attract people to topics many would rather avoid: taking care of advance medical directives, estate planning and funeral planning. She also helped pioneer the Death Cafe movement in the United States by hosting the first one west of the Mississippi in Albuquerque, New Mexico in September 2012.

She’s also the event coordinator of the inaugural Before I Die ABQ Festival taking place at multiple locations and venues around Albuquerque, New Mexico. The festival offers multiple upbeat activities for people to openly think about, talk about and do something about our mortality. Activities include movies, an art show of cremation urns, panel discussions, Death Café conversations, field trips to cemeteries, the Office of the Medical Investigator and haunted buildings, yoga and meditation classes, and parties.
