The website ObituaryHelp.net has expanded to offer not just sample obituaries but also templates that can be used to craft a funeral program.
"I'm pleased to offer dozens of prompts for wording obituaries, along with tips on obit-writing," said Kevin Savetz, the site's creator. "These resources make it easier to write meaningfully about someone's life as well as share details about services that have been planned."
There are now nearly 70 templates, forms and program layouts at the site.
Two new categories have been added to ObituaryHelp.net. There are now templates for writing death notices, which tend to be shorter and less personal than an obituary. The samples provide a framework for laying out the facts of someone's death, services, donation requests and other basic details. Another new category consists of eight invitation templates for funerals, memorials, wakes and other private or public services.
New articles at the site relate to funeral attire as well as addressing familiar relationships in obituaries.
Most of the obituary templates can be downloaded in editable DOC format and customized in Microsoft Word. The funeral programs, invitations, and other formatted designs are editable DOC files.
Everything at ObituaryHelp.net is free for personal use.
