FreePrintable.net has released a new website, AirportCoder.com, as a multi-purpose informational tool. The site provides airport locations, contact information, and abbreviation codes.
"This website is packed with helpful information about airports all over the world," said Kevin Savetz, the site's creator. "It lets you search for airports by country, state, name and code."
The International Air Transport Association (IATA) gives each airport a three-letter code, which isn't easy to remember for the hundreds of airports in the United States or the thousands around the world. AirportCoder.com provides not only the IATA code but the full name, address, phone number, elevation, coordinates, website and Wikipedia page. There's even an embedded map.
For users who don't know which airport they want to find, the site is also broken down by region, so that one can click on a country, province or state and then choose from every available airport in that area. Major/international airports are highlighted in bright blue boxes to make the search easier.
"Whether you choose from the helpful grid of airport names, search the IATA code or narrow down your search by region, there's always an easy way to find what you're looking for at AirportCoder.com," Savetz said.
AirportCoder.com is a sister site to AviationWeather.ws, which provides weather assistance for pilots from the classic FAA guide, and AircraftProfile.com, which lists aircraft information by manufacturer.
There are more than 100 sites in the FreePrintable.net family of free printables sites created by Savetz Publishing, Inc., a company devoted to creating useful and informative web sites of interest to consumers and small businesses.
