PrintablesToday.com, a new daily printables website, aims to be a one-stop, bookmarkable destination for anyone who wants a daily dose of fun, facts and free printables.
"PrintablesToday.com brings together the best printables from my FreePrintable.net family of sites, adds exclusive new content and presents it all in a dynamic fashion that changes each day," said Kevin Savetz, the site's creator.
PrintablesToday.com is also an ideal resource for teachers. The site is designed to display all its elements at once, so it's easy to learn the words of the day, see official or unofficial holidays and check out what's new at the FreePrintable.net sites. It just takes a couple of clicks to print a free calendar, hero worksheet or other item.
There are two words of the day: one for children and a tougher vocabulary word for grownups (or kids who really like to be challenged).
The holidays featured at PrintablesToday.com include U.S. holidays and traditional celebrations as well as lesser-known holidays such as Handwriting Day, Compliment Day, or National Tooth Fairy Day. Each holiday is accompanied by a link to a related printable.
The heroes recognized in the illustrated worksheets are diverse and include trailblazers and innovators such as Rosa Parks, Leonard Matlovich, Flossie Wong-Staal and Frida Kahlo. Each sheet includes a photo and a short biography. "In selecting heroes who have shaped history in the past and present, I chose to elevate people representing all genders and races," Savetz said.
Rounding out the features on PrintablesToday.com are a weekly planner and a monthly calendar to download and print for free. As a month enters its last few days, the calendar displayed switches to the following month.
"I've been offering free and low-cost printables online since 2005," Savetz said. "I hope that people will bookmark PrintablesToday.com and check each day to see what's new."
