The U.S. Naval Academy Business Services Division (NABSD) announced a new brand and website that, states a release, sets the course for a fulfilling experience for Naval Academy visitors for years to come.

The new identity and online resource provide a fresh take on one of the nation’s most notable institutions focusing on welcoming visitors, and raising awareness that 100% of proceeds from Visitor Center and retail activities go back to supporting the Brigade of Midshipmen.

The new brand identity of Naval Academy Tourism–developed in conjunction with digital agency Ironmark–pays homage to the many facets of naval service, including the indisputable thrill of naval aviation. The intrinsic bond to the Marine Corps is signified by gold. The dark blue symbolizes the connection to naval ships and vessels of the deep sea, bringing together significant aspects of the Academy. Finally, the new brand introduces a new lighter blue, representing its charge to welcome visitors in a buoyant and meaningful way. The brand signifies teamwork and community outreach while inspiring a culture of excellence and centuries of service to the nation.

To realize this brand vision, NABSD has developed a digital site that allows the public to research and plan their own unique trips to the Yard, including public tours, attractions, monuments, entry requirements, nearby hotels, onsite restaurants, and more, making it a seamless and easy experience for visitors to learn, visit and be inspired by this long-standing American institution.

NavalAcademyTourism.com supports USNA’s Midshipmen Activity Fund, which funds club sports, extracurricular activities, and functions, promoting camaraderie and teamwork such as the Softball Team, Glee Club, Drum and Bugle Corps, Army-Navy pep rallies, and more, bringing quality of life experiences to the Brigade of Midshipmen.

Founded in 1845, the U.S. Naval Academy in Annapolis, MD, today is a prestigious four-year service academy that prepares Midshipmen morally, mentally, and physically to be professional officers in the naval service. More than 4,400 men and women representing every state in the U.S. and several foreign countries make up the student body, known as the Brigade of Midshipmen. U.S. News and World Reports has recognized the Naval Academy as a top-five undergraduate engineering school and a top-20 best liberal arts college. Midshipmen learn from military and civilian instructors and participate in intercollegiate varsity sports and extracurricular activities. They also study subjects such as leadership, ethics, small arms, drill, seamanship and navigation, tactics, naval engineering and weapons, and military law. Upon graduation, midshipmen earn a Bachelor of Science degree in a choice of 25 different subject majors and go on to serve at least five years of exciting and rewarding service as commissioned officers in the U.S. Navy or U.S. Marine Corps.
