In a recent article by Peter Economy, according to a survey of 2,000 people, the ten top New Year’s resolutions for success and happiness in 2019 were:

Blog851. Diet or eat healthier
2. Exercise more
3. Lose weight
4. Save more and spend less
5. Learn a new skill or hobby
6. Quit smoking
7. Read more
8. Find another job
9. Drink less alcohol
10. Spend more time with family and friends

Of note is how half of the above list is about seeking and maintaining better health. Surely, resolutions that involve healthy habits and spending more time with family and friends are most beneficial.

Research indicates that about sixty percent of us make New Year’s resolutions, yet only about eight percent are successful in achieving them. Oftentimes, acquaintances have told me they maintained their resolution for a couple of weeks and then no longer upheld it.

Some years I make a resolution and some years I don’t. This year I have done so, and I have resolved to sort through the mound of papers on my desk and discard probably most of them. Furthermore, I resolve to weekly discard new ones that are no longer needed.

Dear readers did you make a resolution for 2020? If so, have you stuck to it? All comments are most welcome!
