Megan's House Announces the Winner of a Brand New House as Part of Nationwide Raffle!
WINNER TO RECEIVE HOUSE KEYS TO HER NEW HOME ON
TUESDAY, DECEMBER 19TH IN DRACUT, MA
LOWELL, MA – On Thursday, November 9th, excited raffle ticket holders of The Megan's House: Where Dreams Come Home House Raffle gathered together at the Four Oaks Country Club in Dracut, MA, for the drawing of the winning ticket for a brand-new home in Dracut, MA. The ticket holder who would ultimately claim the grand prize was not in attendance when Dracut Town Manager James Duggan drew the winning ticket.
Barbara Lang, an employee at UMass, realized she was the winning ticket holder when a friend who was watching our live coverage on Facebook contacted her.
Once she discovered the winning ticket was hers, Lang wanted to touch base with her attorney and keep a relatively low profile. "I am extremely grateful and humbled by the generosity of the Megan's House Foundation and their sponsors" states Mrs. Lang.
"What makes the winner of this home even sweeter," says Tim Grover, Executive Director of Megan's House, "is that it is going to someone who is so deserving and has been through so much." He adds, "We are so happy to provide Barbara with the keys to her new home and hope she and her family live there in health and happiness for years to come."
Town manager James Duggan, State Senator Barbara L'Italien and State Representative Colleen Garry, along with Board of Selectmen will be on hand to witness Lang becoming the proud owner of the beautiful new construction colonial home located in Dracut, MA.
The raffle was launched by The Megan's House Foundation as a way to raise funds and to shed some light on the devastating national opioid epidemic. The Megan's House Foundation provides housing and treatment to young women struggling with addiction and other co-occurring disorders who reside at Megan's House and now, Erin's House, a Success Home for recent graduates of Megan's House.
The key ceremony will take place at Lang's new home in Dracut on December 19th at 1:00 pm.
