Meeting planners have a tough job. And sometimes the job is made tougher because they're too nice and don't flex their power enough.

Top keynote speaker and comedian Jan McInnis talks about how meeting professionals should flex their muscle, when needed, to make sure the event goes well. "I think many times the meeting professionals are too nice, and they don't get the service they deserve. And that's a shame because it effects the whole event if just one vendor doesn't do their job," McInnis said. She cites examples of evens she's been involved with, in which something doesn't go well because the meeting planner's instructions weren't followed by other staff.

In her podcast, Comedian Stories: Tales From the Road in Under 5 Minutes, McInnis talks about the hard job meeting planners do, and that she thinks they get taken advantage of occasionally.
