Medicare Supplement insurance marketing tools from AAMSI

Insurance agents who market Medicare Supplement and other Medicare insurance products are generating local awareness utilizing tools now offered by the American Association for Medicare Supplement Insurance (AAMSI).

"More insurance agents selling Medicare insurance products means Jesse Slome, director of the trade group that advocates for Medigap insurance and supports insurance professionals who market Medicare Supplement, Medicare Advantage and Medicare Part D plans.

"There's more competition this year and we are striving to help agents stand out," Slome explains.   AAMSI has produced a do-it-yourself local publicity kit that it makes available free of charge to agents who are listed on the Association's Find A Medicare Insurance Agent online directory.  A nominal charge is required for agents who are not listed.

According to Slome, there are thousands of local community newspapers that provide ideal opportunities for Medicare insurance professionals to provide helpful, consumer-oriented information.  "We provide a variety of newsworthy fill-in-the-blanks press releases that agents can use to get publicity on the local level," Slome notes.  "Having your name appear in the local newspaper is one of the greatest ways to make your telephone ring and best of all it doesn't cost any money to be quoted as an expert."

The local publicity kit is one of the tools created to help agents capitalize on the approaching Medicare Open Enrollment period.  "This is the time of the year when millions of American seniors are focused on the Medicare insurance options," Slome adds.  "It's the ideal time for insurance agents to offer their expertise and their services to prospective clients."

With Medicare Open Enrollment approaching the Association's website hosts the leading online directory listing nearly 1,000 local Medicare Supplement agents.   Consumers can use the directory to find local Medicare insurance agents who offer no-cost Medicare insurance planning and cost comparisons.
