May Hot Car of the Month – 2017 Porsche 911 “1M”

From Photographer Matt Wetzel…

It’s not every day that a manufacturer produces its one millionth car, yet alone one million chassis of a single model. This past week Porsche unveiled the one millionth 911 and we would like to congratulate them on their success over the past 54 years, and also thank them for making some incredible machines for us to enjoy.

The lucky chassis 1,000,000 was a 911 Carrera S, and Porsche chose to finish the car in a stunning special “Irish Green” paint just like the green 911 of founder Ferdinand Porsche’s son. Keeping with the historic trend, Porsche also chose to outfit the car with golden badging as well as a hand carved mahogany wood steering wheel to model it after that very same original car. Another notable interior feature is the houndstooth inserts on the seats, this pattern is not found on most cars and only has recently made its way onto modern Porsches being used on the 911R model. The car features 1,000,000 insignia on the instrument cluster and B pillars as well so it will be easy to distinguish while it is out and about touring the globe. Yes you read that correctly, this nearly priceless car that will be entering permanent collection at the Porsche museum will be touring around the entire planet visiting various landmarks and Porsche dealers celebrating their milestone. While there may only be one “one millionth 911” you still may be able to see this beauty in person at a dealer local to you.

While the car is not for sale, and a true dollar value likely cannot be assessed, Porsche stated that this car has over $239,000 in upgrades and customizations over the standard Carrera S it is based on.
