Ethan Crumbley, 15 years old, the latest school shooter, took
his new gun – a Christmas gift from dad – and shot up Oxford
High School, killing 4 students and injuring 7, including a
teacher. He is also one of the rare mass shooters to not only
be charged with murder, but also terrorism. You will hear how
these terrorism charges came to be, despite there being no
federal law for domestic terrorism, and why the prosecutor
feels that it is an appropriate charge for Ethan.
So, how did Ethan Crumbley become a terrorist? The story is
a tragic, but fascinating one. His parents, Jennifer and James,
made him that way, and his school failed to stop him. Now his
parents and his school are blaming each other and throwing
Ethan under the bus. Jennifer and James have their own
failures, criminal histories and rage at the world. They are
sociopaths who feel entitled to flout the laws of society and
they raised Ethan to be one, too.
Ethan fits the profile of a school shooter to a Tee. A sad,
lonely boy with untreated mental health issues, an obsession
with violent video games, victimized by bullying, from a
broken home where there’s neglect, if not abuse, access to a
gun and more…. But, instead of heeding the warning signs,
his parents armed him, and his school relied upon
incompetent counselors who sent him back to class instead
of calling 911 and sending him away to get help!
