I have to tell you , in 2005, it was one night I had a very strong impulse. I didn?t know what was going on with me, I knew nothing about impulses. All I knew at that time it was ? I don?t want to gamble anymore. It is killing me. So that night I had chain myself to calorifere (Heater) with little handcuffs I have spited out the window little keys and for the whole night I was sweating (perspired), crying and I was by myself. I was in pain. I think it was the worst night in my life. As I see it now, I had one impulse after another that night. I couldn?t go to the bathroom so you can imagine what?In the morning I called on mobile my neighbour ? she went down (as I live on the second floor) and she found the keys and released me. Last impulse I had in June 2006 ?it was horrible ? I was reporting whole night on my forum what was going on with me.(I wrote for the hole night, minute after minute about what is happening with me). I was a loyal patron in coming to Harrah’s properties for 32 years
since 1980 in Atlantic City and Las Vegas. Over the years I have lost
more than I won liquidating 401ks, my kids bank accounts, refinancing
my home, etc. When I was in trouble with gambling before with my family
I went to Harrah’s in 2002 with my wife and told the casino credit
never to open a credit line in Harrah’s ever again because I had a
problem and signed a document. In turn I had to file bankruptcy due to
this addiction. A few years later my addiction continued and Harrah’s
reopened a credit line for $2,000 for me and it ballooned to a loss of $210,000
for Harrah’s properties in February 2012. I was given Credit way beyond
my means I had Credit Line at Harrah’s in Atlantic City at $50,000 and in the end they gave me $50,000+ in all there four casinos in Atlantic City,
a host at Caesar’s in Atlantic City said they would match it for
another $50,000 without checking my bank account which actually had
approximately $5,000 in it and they were with same company which means
I had $200,000 Credit Line with Caesar’s Entertainment in Atlantic
City. It did not stop there I was raised to $100,000 Line of Credit at
Harrah’s in Atlantic City from December 2011- January 2012 which means
I had a $150,000 Line in these 2 Caesar Entertainment Casinos. Also I
had another Credit Line at Bally’s in Atlantic City which is part of
the Caesar Entertainment family for $10,000 which was increased to
$20,000 during the same time frame Dec.11-Jan.12. This ballooned my
Credit to $170,000 permanent credit in Atlantic City with very little
in my bank account plus with an existing Credit Line in Caesar Las
Vegas of $15,000. And lost another $32,000 in Caesar Las
Vegas. Again it did not end there I was given a TTO of
12,500 off the $50,000 from Caesar’s in Atlantic City when I lost the
$50,000 there which was 25% of the Credit line and also I was given
another TTO of $5,000 at Bally’s in Atlantic City off the $20,000
existing credit line I lost which was also 25% of the existing Credit
line. At the end of credit line fueled binge I was also given an TTO of
$7,500 out in Caesar’s Las Vegas which was 50% of Line of $15,000
permanent which I lost also. I am a Compulsive Gambler which came to
horrible ending in 2012 with the help of this continued credit that
fueled my addiction in total of $210,000 worth of Credit from Caesar’s
Entertainment Casino’s. The Casino gambling that I did has put me and
my family in financial and emotional hardship. I was so deep in my
gambling addiction, I even gave Harrah’s in Atlantic City for payment
in desperation a 401k Retirement check for $56,500 in February 2012 at
the casino cage to clear my marker which Harrah’s cashed and let me
sign another marker was given the credit immediately back which
occurred on the same day which was a Saturday before the check was even
validated with the Bank. Also the compulsion was so bad, I won some
money back to pay off some of the markers went to window pay off
Harrah’s in Atlantic City Marker’s and I ask if I can pay Caesar’s
markers in Atlantic City and was told it could not be done even though
credit decisions are consolidated in one location. As a compulsive
gambler with chips still in my hand I went back to the tables and
played, lost the chips plus a marker.I received help in February 2012 and continued to receive it today for
my deep addiction thru the Gamblers Anonymous Program as well as went on the lifetime
exclusion list in March 2012. I
was distress and ruin, while trying to fulfill my obligations at the
same time. During this time while I am trying to recover from my deep
addiction and trying to fulfill my obligation as to my debt, I was
contacted by Caesar Entertainment not once or twice but three times
with a promotion of trying to lure me back to the Caesar’s Properties
even though I was on the exclusion list back in March 2012 which was
over 3.5 months later. These promotions included the Food Wine Festival
at the end July 2012 which I was sent 2 times and Health revised and
Fitness Festival at the end September 2012 well over 6 months past the
date I went on Lifetime Exclusion List. I filed a complaint with
Melanie Klein of The Division of Gaming in New Jersey about these
promotions subsequently after I went on the Exclusion List.
I was
given Credit Lines way beyond my means with an existing Bankruptcy in
2002 and received no advice from Harrah’s management to slow down or
stop until it was too late. I am still trying to recover financially
and emotionally on what this did to me and more importantly to my
family. I hope telling this story might prevent future events happening
to other patrons of Caesar Entertainment.
