Long term care insurance association marks 10 years consumer outreach

The American Association for Long-Term Care Insurance marks the 10th anniversary of the launch of consumer awareness efforts this week.

"Today marks the 10-year anniversary of our launch of consumer awareness efforts," explains Jesse Slome, director of the long-term care insurance association.   Over that period, Slome estimates the organization's efforts have educated tens of millions of older Americans about the importance of long-term care insurance planning.

"Our first decade was focused on insurance agents and we continue to do all we can to educate professionals," Slome noted.  "Clearly there was an equal need to educate consumers about the importance of planning and the viable insurance options that exist."

As part of the consumer awareness effort, the Association helps connect individuals seeking long-term care insurance costs and information with trained professionals.  "We have had nearly 100,000 consumers connect with us over the decade seeking cost comparisons and information," Slome noted.  "We mark this anniversary and all that has been accomplished and look forward to the next 10 years knowing that there is still so much more to do."

Slome is one of the nation's leading long-term care insurance experts.  He is founder of the Association and also established Long-Term Care Awareness Month that is held every year in November.   He is the author of numerous guides for consumers and small businesses that focus on long-term care planning and related issues.  He is also founder of two other organizations, the American Association for Medicare Supplement Insurance and the American Association for Critical Illness Insurance.

The American Association for Long-Term Care Insurance advocates for the importance of long-term care planning and helps consumers connect with knowledgeable professionals who are independent advisors.   Consumers looking for local long-term care insurance agents or cost comparisons should visit the Association's website at www.aaltci.org or can call the organization's national headquarters at 818-597-3227.

The American Association for Long-Term Care Insurance and the American Association for Medicare Supplement Insurance advocate for the importance of planning and support insurance professionals nationwide.  Jesse Slome, founder and executive director of the organizations, is a leading consumer advocate and author of numerous consumer and professional guides focused on retirement and insurance planning that have been published by governmental agencies and private organizations.
