The importance of long-term care insurance planning and the future of a government long-term care insurance program were key topics discussed on a national televised appearance by Jesse Slome, director of the American Association for Long-Term Care Insurance (AALTCI).

"If you live a long life the chances of needing long-term care dramatically increase and more Americans are living long lives into their 90s and even past age 100," explains Jesse Slome, director of AALTCI.  "The vast majority have no plan in place for the very real risk and far too few ever look into long-term care insurance as an affordable way to plan."

The Association director made an appearance on Yahoo Finance a televised program available nationally.   "The Association strives to educate as many consumers and financial professionals of both the risk and the available options," Slome shared.  "Long-term care insurance is not for everyone," the expert advised viewers.  "It is designed for a defined segment of the population."

The televised program also dealt with the potential for a nationalized long-term care insurance program.  "States are looking at this and indeed some of the candidates for president are talking about a taxpayer funded long-term care benefit," Slome acknowledged.  "I am just not sure that the American taxpaying public is ready to pay for Medicare for all and then a nationalized long-term care program on top of that."

The American Association for Long-Term Care Insurance advocates for the importance of long-term care planning.   The organization connects consumers with knowledgeable professionals who are independent advisors for no-cost, no-obligation long-term care insurance quotes and policy comparisons.

Jesse Slome is founder of the organization and currently serves as the director for AALTCI as well as the American Association for Medicare Supplement Insurance as well as the American Association for Critical Illness Insurance.
