The test of a hobby or pastime or private “interest” is whether you can engage in it without thinking about your business, or worrying about issues that cause stress, or planning what you’re going to do “next.”
If you don’t have these kinds of private pursuits, you’ll wear down your battery (no matter how large it may be), undermine your health, and be, on the whole, a hell of a lot more boring than you should be!
I find it pathetic when people list on social media the books they’ve read in the recent past or are piled up on their desks and they’re all business books. The platitude “You shouldn’t live to work, you should work to live” is ridiculous. We don’t have a “work life” and a “personal life,” we have a life, period.
Try to live it to the max.
