I love this wine that I drink with my dinner at Taverna Cretekou. I can finish a bottle on my own. ??

What are you hungry for?  Because chances are, Old Town Alexandria has something to suit your taste!

The best thing that has happened for my work is moving my business here. I love to cook but also love to experience new and different tastes. That is why I love that I have so many options to choose from when I do not feel like cooking or don’t have the time to prepare my goddess meals. Just steps and minutes from my sanctuary, there is French, there is American, there is Asian Fusion, Italian, Lebanese, Mexican, Spanish, Irish, medieval, and southern flare, and within their menu options, there is always something healthy for me.

While there are many choices, some of my regular places to eat include Taverna CretekouSociety Fair, The Pita House, Cafe Banh Mi, Asian Bistro, Le Pain Quotidien, located practically next door to my goddess boutique, and the Brabo Tasting Room at the Lorien Hotel and Spa, where I go regularly for my massages and to use their eucalyptus steam room.

Don’t forget the Old Town Farmers’ Market. Held year-round in Market Square on Saturdays, the market is the oldest in the country, and in fact originally featured produce sent by George Washington from Mount Vernon.

And if that’s not enough, Alexandria was named “Best Downtown in America” last year by Livability.com!  One thing they highlighted was the restaurant scene, saying “restaurants in Alexandria are themselves worth flying across the country to try and draw thousands of food connoisseurs from the Washington D.C. area. Residents here take full advantage of their city’s thriving food scene, eating out nearly twice as much as the average American.”  I can personally attest that statistic is correct. ??

I am happy and proud to be living and working in such a cute little city. Just wanted to share with you in case you would like to give Old Town Alexandria a visit. What about you? Any food suggestions for me that you would like to share?

A salad composed of fresh ingredients I got from the farmers market.

The famous Irish bread from Society Fair and my homemade tuna salad with greens from the Saturday farmers’ market.
