Karen Stintz on Leaning In — politics, family, and work-life balance

Toronto, ON, May 9, 2014 – Toronto mayoral candidate, Karen Stintz, joins the growing list of influential speakers for Lean In Toronto chapter events. Karen Stintz will discuss her political journey and participate in a question and answer period on May 13th from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m.

"The Lean In Toronto chapter is doing great things to help empower, encourage, and motivate women in the Greater Toronto Area," says Karen Stintz, councillor for ward 16 Eglinton- Lawrence and mayoral candidate for the City of Toronto. "I believe in the importance of women supporting each other, and Lean In is a perfect vehicle for that."

The Lean In Toronto chapter was inspired by Lean In: Women, Work, and the Will to Lead, a bestseller by Facebook Chief Operating Officer Sheryl Sandberg. This will be the ninth event for the Toronto chapter. These events are geared towards professional women in the Greater Toronto Area. Attendees will enjoy a light wine and cheese reception while Karen Stintz discusses:

  • Balancing family and a career
  • Women in politics
  • Mayoral candidacy
  • Importance of establishing positive networks

The Lean In Toronto chapter is a group of professional women seeking to grow their careers by networking, learning and sharing experiences in a positive, enriching environment. The Lean In Toronto chapter was founded in 2013.
