LOS ANGELES — An overview of all-news stations kicks off our thorough four-part series of July 2019 ratings recaps.
Spoiler alert: This isn’t the greatest month you’ll ever see for the format.
That point notwithstanding, the following scoreboards reflect data from all-news properties that appear in the top 20 (6+) in July 2019, a ratings period that covered June 20 – July 17.
Nielsen Audio releases audience estimates for facilities that subscribe to its services. As a result, ratings stats in this exclusive analysis are limited to stations paying that company for its data.
Entercom has a virtual monopoly on the all-news genre, as that company owns all but three stations listed in this format synopsis.
The exceptions are iHeartMedia’s WBZ-AM, Boston (also listed in Providence); WTOP, Washington, DC (Hubbard Broadcasting); and KOMO, Seattle (Sinclair Broadcast Group).
