Joele Frank, Wilkinson Brimmer Katcher represents Broadcom as it moves to acquire VMware cloud software company in a $69B deal, including debt, a deal that could signal a rebound in big corporate mergers, according to the Financial Times.

The transaction will transform the semiconductor company into a diversified tech powerhouse equipped to tackle the most pressing information infrastructure needs.

Broadcom CEO Hock Tan calls VMware an iconic pioneer and innovator in enterprise software.

“Collectively, we will deliver even more choice, value and innovation to customers, enabling them to thrive in this increasingly complex mult-cloud era,” Tan said.

Michael Dell, chairman of VMware, says the merger is a “landmark moment” that provides shareholders and employees the opportunity to participate in meaningful upside.”
