Susan Eisen, jewelry expert and author, was recently invited to help mentor and tutor aspiring students that eventually want to be involved in the jewelry industry. Her coaching sessions were held at The Gemological Institute of America Mini Career Fair in Las Vegas, Nevada on Sunday, May 31, 2009. Students from all over the United States and Europe participated in the event in order to learn about areas from designing jewelry to entrepreneurship in the jewelry industry.

Susan Eisen is a jewelry appraiser, author, and the President and Chief Designer at Susan Eisen Fine Jewelry & Watches. Her titles include Graduate Gemologist from the Gemological Institute of America, Certified Gemologist Appraiser with the American Gem Society, certified member of the International Society of Appraisers, and Senior Member and Master Gemologist Appraiser of the American Society of Appraisers, a title held by only 4 other people in Texas and only 42 in the entire United States. An El Paso native, she founded her first store in 1980, is now located at 5857 North Mesa, and does custom jewelry designing, repairs, and jewelry and fine art appraising. In 2009, Ms. Eisen won the U.S. Small Business Administration Small Businessperson of the Year award for the El Paso district.
