Facial recognition technology has the ability to transform the events industry, but it remains to be seen how attendees will respond to the biometrics solutions coming onto the market.

Potential uses for facial recognition include simplifying the on-site registration process, tracking attendee facial expressions to gauge interest in programming, enhancing security and providing more personalized attendee interactions.

NEW ARTICLE: Artificial Intelligence - The Upcoming Impact on Events

Artificial intelligence (AI) will have a huge impact on events and society in general. Here are a number of ways that this is already happening.

TECHTALK TO RESUME:

In the past issue of TechTalk, I announced, after 22 years of publication, that I would cease the publication of TechTalk.  After nearly 100 responses urging a continuance, I have considered another option. TechTalk will continue but will be produced by the team at AVaStar, a service offering of Electro-Media Design and my friend, Jeff Loether, an industry-recognized thought leader in presentations, meetings and event technologies. I will continue to contribute with occasional articles and other content.

The schedule is tentatively set for six time per year and, although the format will remain roughly the same, Jeff and his staff will bring a new energy and promise additional offerings such as podcasts and webcasts.
