This Giving Tuesday you can help youngsters bounce back at KidsFirst of SoCal in Woodland Hills

It's winter and there is a morning chill in the air. Today the weather is transitioning from warm. hot and dry in a post Woodley wildfire Tuesday from earlier 70-90 degree windy days to a cold and rainy end of the week. What would help children and families in the San Fernando Valley recover from losses and grief would be to reestablish order compassionately on a day-to-day basis.  Kids First of So Cal will offer a Winter Recess fun, safe learning sanctuary and is opening its doors this community support day for donors to help them give away seats where children can make new friends and play.  In their classrooms, learning is a priority.  In the Kids First of So Cal Site inside the Billy Blanks Sweat Club on Califa near Desoto in Woodland Hills, this New Education Options sponsored enriched childcare site builds student confidence, capacity, self- esteem and resiliency.

You can help these children fall in love with words and reading and allow their parents to get back to work. (See how and why at the end of this release.Call us and host a scrabblethon near you this quarter or next year!)

Whoever you wake up this morning to help or if you have to research a bit to choose a public charity that's the point.  This is a social media international campaign that encourages participation to build community resources and people.  You are invited to be the one in your neighborhood that makes an administrator or client happy by writing a check or making a call to the charity whose services catch your fancy.

Never have there been more tools to text, call, click or go fund me to send a check, make a pay pal gift, or screen a program, choose a cause and then give.  The wild fire evacuees might be your cause or a project that New Education Options is about to pursue in tandem with the Celtic Arts Center.  You make all the difference, because big data is now capturing how to connect, if the agency connects, how it can grow, and if people know about their services.

You can use a friend's recommendation or use Guidestar. You can search Philanthropy News or look at Patch. You can look at the Burbank Community Council's Flier concerning their Holiday Baskets Annual Drive.  However you start, join in.

Whoever becomes your choice, through a direct card payment or Donor Advised Fund check, consider giving this year locally.  Not just overseas and not just for a crisis, but consider with social changes good causes will need your ongoing support. The new, old, local programs and transitioning programs need you all the more because 501 c 3's are in transition and demographics, schools and now residents need one to one programs that buoy their spirits and meet day to day needs.

Most will need you to a board this year, donate volunteer time, but consider the gift of liquidity is a shot in the arm for a mission that needs your contribution to meet growing needs or inspire and empower their clientele, students, seniors, parents, even wildlife, professionals, or at risk populations.

Whether well known like Red Cross or touching like Irish Dancing at the Celtic Arts Center in NOHO or underwriting collaborations with ancient arts like singing, building hedgerows, or working with GLOBE.gov here an in Ireland, today you will find websites to chat, and inbound phone rooms, to texts and calls will be as ready as they can be to tell you about their program and make their pitch.  Suddenly one like Kids First.la will catch your heart and a cause like purchasing a shuttle bus to pick up children and parents and bring the services out to Nature to do citizen science GLOBE teacher studies and you will be hooked.

You can look up their website or find out about them in community created video at a time when ECE is very important in helping parents go to work at https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Knk9KX_wpJg.  And you will hear about whom they serve K-5 graders, where they serve Plummer and the Califa sites.  Enrichment Works plays that they have donated to whole schools and classes (all local and affordable) hip hop, to Tae Bo, to martial arts, and ropes that build confidence, faith, and vision in youngsters.  Siblings can attend and find out how to gain a belt, respect for others and traditions under fitness guru, Billy Blanks or with a hand picked instructor.  What a spectacular community resource this brand new dojo open in time where there is a great multi-community need. Your gift to cover programs that will train and develop young bodies, hearts and minds is the point of this philanthropic international event.  Your gift can underwrite the Winter Session to a year of services you be the judge.

You will be able to hear a new radio interview from their nonprofit's later this week and can donate to New Education Options to KidsFirst of So Cal through buying Robert Escalante's 13thEditionScrabblebook. You can become a memorable donor or become a highly competitive gaming team and join the nonprofit in its upcoming events encouraging vocabulary building that will cheer any evening or afternoon and can raise dollars to for supplies, research, equipment, insurance, and teacher training throughout the year.

Buy 10 or 50 for a school or an organization host a scrabble event of your own.  Help NEO to underwrite Earthquake Preparedness or Field trips and tutoring initiatives that keep kids safe, enrich young lives, build academic vocabulary, and help children understand their course work. You may not be able to change this year's fires, but with Science and Arts, children can get out to a park and explore citizen science to understand California's changes and challenges, and by diverse offerings and experiences make friends and meet challenges that improve their grades.

Find out more about the Escalante book, the Woodland and North Hills childcare program housed in their new site at the Billy Blanks Sweat Club in Woodland Hills and open this Winter intersession or about their fiscal agent and its international student exchanges, drum circles for NASA scientists, parents, teens, and children, or teacher trainings, text 818-742-0599.

Call 818- 517-3651 to make a direct donation to Kids First of So Cal and talk to Mrs. Reichbach about your children or to find out how to apply for CCRC.  This release has hopefully invited you to participate, have fun, because more than ever your gift is needed.

If you can't this year, then head to the Church of the Chimes.org events on November 30thand December 1st.  Visit the Celtic Arts Center for their Winter Events or to check out classes and membership. We are better when we are not alone and we feel we can help to rebuild our communities, our connections and our agencies to be resilient as well as the kids, teachers, schools, workers, evacuees, and aids we work with and serve.
