Inspirational Romance Novel Embraces Positive Message Empowering Women

Good Enough Book Cover

Ann Arbor, MI  (April 11, 2017)  Author and inspirational speaker Pamela Gossiaux's new novel Good Enough hits the shelves with a witty, warm story that entertains as well as inspires. In a time when it seems we can't do enough, Gossiaux counters that with a restorative message that perhaps we don't need to.

"You have enough. You are enough. You do enough. That's going to be my mission statement." The words of her main character are inspiring to us in a time when magazine covers, social media and self-improvement books clamor for us to be more and do more.

Good Enough touches a nerve every woman faces. Are we ever going to be good enough? Gossiaux has written a funny, revenge romance that will have you cheering on the heroine, Amy, until the very end.

—Diana Lesire Brandmeyer, author of CBA Best Seller Mind of Her Own.

Unlikely heroine Amy Summers has it all:  the world's best job, an awesome boyfriend, and a happily-ever-after in sight.  She's worked hard, played by the rules, and has matching pant suits. She's feeling good about life. Then, in one very bad day that involves burnt toast and a police arrest, she loses it all – her job, her boyfriend…and her entire wardrobe.

That's when she decides to give up men and become a Bohemian novelist. She takes her laptop to Starbucks to compose her epic adventure, but literally bumps into caffeine-free, easy-going Josh Grey, a life coach and very handsome man. (Not that she's noticing.)

When he offers to help Amy get back on her feet, she decides to hire him.  As they work together to rebuild Amy's life, Amy begins to live her own epic adventure, a fast-paced, comedy that entangles her in a series of lies and cover-ups as she struggles to be "good enough."

Her heart is telling her that Josh is the man, but Josh is big on integrity and honesty, and Amy has a huge secret that could push him away if he ever finds out.

"So many of the oft-maligned Chick Lit novels rely on frequent emphasis on sexual encounters to attract their audience. Pam sees a different direction of importance in her female centric novel – keeping the love interests alive but on the periphery of her core themes. She balances contemporary situations familiar to all of us with little glitches that can change our lives in both a positive way and a not so helpful direction, resolves the issues that she presents, and the result is a book of warmth, humor, and just plain fine storytelling that signals the arrival of a new voice."

While Gossiaux's book is funny and entertaining, it also digs deep to answer the question: Why do we try so hard to be better, and what is our motivation for that?

Complicating Amy's journey is the fact that she has found her ex-boyfriend's winning lottery ticket – worth $22 million. If she cashes it in, she could make all her dreams come true. What's a girl to do?

Through the story she encounters people outside of her comfort zone: her ex-boyfriend's pregnant girlfriend, her drunken janitor, and a host of other, everyday people we find ourselves cheering for. But most of all, we cheer for Amy. As she struggles through relationship heartbreaks  and the frustrations of starting over in her career, we as readers feel empathy towards her, because most of us, at some point, have also been afraid we couldn't measure up.

This clean, fresh book is a must-read that will leave you feeling that anything is possible, even when it seems the world is against you, and that forgiveness is often at the root of change.
