The Holiday Party - Season's Greetings time of the year is a delicate balance between professional behavior and interacting smoothly and professionally with your colleagues and coworkers.

Knowing the proper etiquette and manners at office functions is essential to avoid the pitfalls of being embarrassed or becoming the laughing stock of the party. With all of the recent press coverage of inappropriate behavior and sexual misconduct, now is the time to be on high alert.

Here are my tips to Survive the Holiday Part with Elegance, Grace and Panache and avoid Career Suicide.

Be moderate in all things. ?Dress to impress, but remember this is a company function. Avoid wearing revealing garments, too short a dress or too flashy a tie or socks for the men. Be on time and don't be the last person to leave the party. Greet your host upon arrival and say a brief thank you prior to departing. Mingle with your colleagues as well as introducing yourself to the senior executives. Pay a sincere and appropriate compliment to several people. Drink in moderation. Hold your glass in your left hand so that you can shake hands with others and remember to be an Ambassador for Yourself, Your Company and your Country.
