Staying well isn’t an accident. It takes a real intention and the development of healthy habits. One of those habits is to be proactive with tests that can screen you for potentially lethal diseases BEFORE they become a problem. It’s why my motto is “Its Better to Stay Well than to Get Well.”
When I’m invited to speak to audiences as a health communicator and health expert, I like to incorporate health songs I’ve written. There are several reasons why they are effective.
  1. They’re entertaining – you’ve got to get peoples ATTENTION to achieve their RETENTION
  2. Health songs overcome embarrassment
  3. Health songs break down walls created by fear – if you can sing about it, you can talk about it.

In this example taken from a talk I did on successful aging in California, I performed a song I wrote about Colonoscopy. The title is called “Light at the End of Your Tunnel.” You can see and hear how the essential health message can be told in the form of a health song.
I hope you enjoy the song and walk away with the message. Remember, good health isn’t an accident, it’s a strategy.
