Here’s your spoonful of courage for the day in the last video I discussed the fact that we need to hold
00:00:09
fast to our confession of hope but I want to give you a different perspective and I want
00:00:14
to tell you a story about my oldest son Jacob he’s now 21 years old but when he was a
00:00:19
toddler he had a very different way of saying or asking for me to hold him
00:00:26
he would say Jacob hold Dada. Jacob hold Dada that was his way of wanting me to pick
00:00:32
him up and hold him in my arms well in Jacob’s mind he was the one that was doing the holding he was holding
00:00:39
daddy but the reality was just the reverse it was his father who was holding them
00:00:45
you know spiritually speaking I think sometimes we have Jacob’s perspective about things we
00:00:50
think that we’re the ones that are holding on to God and even in the last video I was talking about
00:00:55
the fact of of of the necessity of doing that but just from a bigger perspective I want to
00:00:59
remind you it is god our heavenly Father who holds us in these chaotic times let me read to
00:01:06
you a passage in gen in Deuteronomy chapter 33 it’s verse 27 it says the eternal God is
00:01:13
your dwelling place and underneath are the everlasting arms and if you think about this god our
00:01:19
heavenly Father is our refuge that we can come to him and we can crawl up into his arms
00:01:25
and based upon his unmerited favor towards us based upon the completed work of Christ
00:01:31
and what he has done for us that we cannot do for ourselves we are now his children
00:01:37
and the fact that He holds us in spite of our inadequacies in spite of our goof ups in spite of all
00:01:44
of those things that God loves us as our heavenly father isn’t that a great assurance today to know
00:01:49
that he’s in it for the long haul in our lives that he loves us
00:01:54
and that his everlasting arms are going to hold us up and the old testament this word is a
00:02:00
word called hesed it means that god’s in it for the long haul
00:02:05
despite what we do that God will do for us what we cannot do for ourselves and that’s the best news
00:02:11
I can think of may you fall into his heavenly arms and stay there I’m Dr Page the best guy to see on the worst day of your life.
