This is a great opportunity for anyone with a gambling addiction to get a foundation of recovery for when things start up It's like being an alcoholic and there's no alcohol anywhere.
COVID-19 pandemic may help them in a way: it might lead to them quitting gambling.

But there's an equal and opposite silver lining for a tortured circle of gamblers for whom no games means less temptation. It's lure of relapse isn't all gone. Addicted gamblers can switch to online casinos, even invented ideas like, "what penny lands closer to the wall," says Arnie Wexler, a nationally renowned gambling counselor.

"They have urges right now. They're a little ticked off that they're not able to place a bet," Wexler said. "But as soon as they get a chance to do it, they'll be back in it if they don't get help for gambling addiction ."

"When it [the pandemic] ends, if you've had a lull of not gambling for a few days or a few months or how long this is going to take, then you have an opportunity to get some help," Wexler said. "I would call Gamblers Anonymous and see if they can get a meeting setup. or join wexlers facebook page- GAMBLING ADDICTION AND RECOVERY - with 2000 others world wide "

I remember when i was gambling and president  Kennedy got killed  all gambling and sports were  closed a few days i was nuts  so i got into a card game  for 3 days my father in law come 2 watch  he said  " they are cheating you "but it was the only game so i only played another 2 days after he told me that       Thats gambling addiction !!

Wexler was a compulsive gambler from a young age until his early 30s and he said he hasn't placed a bet since 1968.

Wexler made his last bet 52 years ago He remembers the struggles of stopping. Ten years into recovery, he'd wake up in the middle of the night, "sweating like a pig, thinking I'd gone back to gambling and then realizing it was only a dream."
