Want to gain more success in your life and work through a new Dog Type Personality Profiling System. Yes. That's right. Dogs! And it really works, as participants have found in several workshops where popular dogs represent different personality types.
Initially the program helps businesspeople and professionals get more clients and customers, improve workplace relationships, and find jobs by better communicating with the person interviewing them.
For example, if the other person is a German Shepherd leader type, get to the point quickly and show whatever you are offering will provide a big win. If the other person is people-oriented Pomeranian start with some comments about families and fun. If it's a Golden Retriever, a helper and supporter, emphasize how your product or service will help others. Or if you're dealing with a conscientious detail-oriented Border Collie type who lives facts, be ready to back up with whatever you are saying with supporting information.
The WHAT'S YOUR DOG TYPE? system is featured in a series of seven books, workbook, guidebook for workshop facilities, along with a website (www.whatsyourdogtype.com), Meetup group (www.meetup.com/whats-your-dog-type), Facebook group (http://www.facebook.com/groups/WHATSYOURDOGTYPE), and beginnings of a National Dog Type Association. The books include: What's Your Dog Type? by Jana Collins and Gini Graham Scott, Using the Dog Type System for Success in Business and the Workplace, Discovering Your Dog Type, and many more by Gini Graham Scott, a Ph.D. sociologist based in Lafayette, Calfornia, who developed the system. The system has some parallels with other popular personality tests, such as the DISC, Myers-Briggs, and 4-Color Personality Tests.
The workshops are led by Bryan Balch, a success coach, who leads programs for executives, and a St. Louis coach, Douglas Birk, is setting up programs there. While these first workshops are designed for work and business relationships, the system can be applied to gaining insights about oneself and improving relationships with others, as described in a series of self-help books, which include Getting Help from Your Dogs, Getting Even More Help from Your Dogs, and Using the Dog System in Your Everyday Life.
The next Bay Area workshop will be on October 2 from 7:30-9:30 at 140 Mayhew Drive, #100, in Pleasant Hill. You'll experience an introduction to the program, along with some fun exercises with others to show how the system works -- and how to determine what type another person is by asking a few questions and assessing what they say, along with some clues from what people are wearing.
