I recently read a Spin Sucks article, which had numerous accounts of stories that inspire and may help serve as motivation for a very good 2020, especially for women.

In 2019:

  • storyblocks business woman in conference room giving speech SwlYv5WK5GThe first–ever woman pilot joined the Indian navy.
  • The 116th Congress became the most diverse in US history.
  • Austria named its first female chancellor.
  • Chicago elected its first African-American female mayor.
  • The European Commission elected its first female President.
  • Five of the major parties in Finland’s parliament are now led by women.
  • All of the major pageants were won by women of color.
  • Montgomery, Alabama, home of the famous Bus Boycott, elected its first black mayor in 200 years.

Another example is Megan Rapinoe, a professional soccer player who was awarded the Best FIFA woman’s player award in 2019.

Dear readers, do you know of other examples of females excelling this past year? Sharing about them would be much appreciated and may help and inspire other women to accomplish their goals and overcome challenges.
