Former Branch 1100 Treasurer Kathy Rubly dies

Kath Rubly, a gold card member of Garden Grove, CA Branch 1100, died on Nov. 2.

Kathy began her career as a letter carrier in 1969 and was active in her branch from the start. She participated in the in 1970 postal strike and was a pioneer for women seeking leadership positions in her branch.

In 1974, Rubly became a trustee of Branch 1100 and in 2001 she became chairwoman of the executive council. She served as branch treasurer from 2005 until her retirement in 2016. After her retirement, she served the branch as a board member at large.

“On behalf of NALC, I send my deepest sympathies to Kathy’s family, friends and brothers and sisters at Branch 1100,” NALC President Fredric Rolando said. “For decades, Kathy served her branch advocating for her fellow letter carriers. I appreciate her years of dedicated service and mourn her loss.”
