Lifesaving Resources conducted its final WATER and SWIFTWATER RESCUE course of the 2017 season. The course was conducted in cooperation with the York County Fire Chiefs' Assoc. and conducted in Kennebunkport, Maine. The training included a 4.5 Hour classroom session, two ocean practical sessions, and one river practical session. 14 firefighters from throughout Maine, along with several from Vermont, participated. The course was conducted by Gerry Dworkin, and assisted by Bob Shields (Rhode Island, Jason Fedler ( New York), and Greg LeBlanc (New Hampshire). 8 graduated as SWIFTWATER RESCUE TECHNICIANS, 4 as WATER RESCUE TECHNICIANS, and 2 at the WATER RESCUE AWARENESS level.
Lifesaving Resources is now preparing for their 2018 season of ICE RESCUE training and will be conducting 2 ICE RESCUE TECHNICIAN courses, as well as their annual INTERNATIONAL ICE RESCUE TRAIN-THE-TRAINER ACADEMY in Maine beginning in February.
