More than 19 million faxes have been sent via FaxZero.com, the free internet fax service launched in 2006.
"I was so pleased this week when I saw the counter tick over to 19 million, or, to be precise, 19,008,166 faxes sent," said Kevin Savetz, who has been offering online fax resources since the mid-1990s. "FaxZero is convenient, fast and secure. And besides letting users send five free three-page faxes per day in the U.S. and Canada, there's an affordable international faxing option as well as the ability to fax representatives in Congress, or state governors, at no cost."
Savetz tallied 1,896,564 faxes sent in 2018 alone and many of those were to legislators in the U.S. House of Representatives or Senate. "Due to the current political climate, many people are using FaxZero to fax representatives and make their voices heard," he said. "It just takes a few clicks to find your rep, type a message and send a fax."
FaxZero also has a convenient guide for how to approach members of Congress via fax, with tips such as: making sure your message is specific, maintaining a respectful tone and keeping it brief. The site also posts a list of which 10 representatives have been faxed the most each day, week or month.
FaxZero can be used with a desktop computer or smartphone and accepts DOC, DOCx, PDF and other common file formats. If a user would like to fax more than five faxes per day, or longer faxes, additional faxes are just $1.99 each. The rate for international faxes depends on which of the 180 nations is being faxed.
"The next milestone will be 20 million faxes sent," Savetz said. "I won't be surprised if that happens this calendar year."
