Screening for silent atrial fibrillation (afib with no symptoms) in those 65 and over, and treating with blood thinners (anticoagulants), could prevent thousands of strokes worldwide each year according to a top-level panel of experts in today’s issue of Circulation, the journal of the American Heart Association.
