Eastern Shore Psychological Services, LLC (ESPS) is pleased to announce greatly enhanced access to behavioral health services for the mid and lower eastern shore of Maryland. "Two full time psychiatrists, Dr. Ovais Khalid and Dr. Saima Maqsood have joined our team to provide services to the Lower Shore" says CEO and founder Dr. Kathryn Seifert. Dr. Maqsood is eligible for Board Certification as a Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist. Dr. Khalid will be providing psychiatric services to adults and children.

ESPS is now providing addictions and co-occurring services and DWI education, as well.  "Same Day Access" is now available for new patients. Individuals requesting services are invited to come during open access hours to meet with a therapist for an initial appointment. Our goal is to respond to requests for services as quickly as possible.

In addition to new staff and customer service procedures, ESPS' Mid-Shore facility in Easton is undergoing expansion and will have additional therapist offices and a large conference room for meetings and training. Efforts are also underway to expand services in Princess Anne.

On August 13, 2013 ESPS and Salisbury University will hold a kick-off meeting for a $250,000, 2 year MIPS grant to further validate the CARE2 assessment created by Dr. Seifert.  The CARE2 assesses high, medium or low risk for violence among youth and creates a treatment plan to reduce that risk.  The treatment plan section of the tool makes the CARE2 a unique instrument among those presently on the market.  In the future, Dr. Seifert will be providing training on the CARE2 and her 3 books written for the use of professionals in the helping fields.
