Eastern Shore Psychological Services Appoints Mid-Shore Clinical Director

 

Kathryn Seifert PhD, CEO at Eastern Shore Psychological Services announces the appointment of Connie Pullen, LCSW-C, LCDAS, LCSOTP as the new clinical director of mid-shore programs. Connie has been a longtime employee with ESPS serving since August 2001. She was the first director of mid-shore programs and the therapeutic architect of the Talbot County School-Based Mental Health Programs, which ESPS has provided for families and children in Talbot County since May 2002. 

Connie came to ESPS after being executive director for All Seasons. Connie is a long-standing advocate for consumers with mental health needs in the mid-shore area. She was active for 30 plus years with the Mental Health Association, being president of the organization for six terms. She was also on the State Board of the Mental Health Association serving on the Government Affairs committee and being a liaison with the Maryland State Legislature. Connie has also been involved with several Maryland State Government Boards through Governor appointments such as the Victim Services Board, the Governor's taskforce of children youth, and families systems Reform. She served as president of the Women's Alliance of Maryland and vice chair of MCASA. 

She has been awarded numerous citations from the state of Maryland including citations for services to the citizens of Maryland. Locally, she has served on the Board of the Talbot County Network, Mid-Shore Mental Health Systems Advisory Board and the Talbot Partnership Board. Connie was awarded the Lifetime Achievement Award in 2016 from Mid-Shore South Mental Health Systems. 

On her appointment Connie stated, "I've had a dream job for the last 18 years filled with opportunities. I am very loyal to the ESPS brand, which promotes early intervention and prevention, trauma and attachment work, and violence reduction especially in the area of forensic services. I love this agency, the people I work with and the consumers I serve; as well as the unique interplay of excellence, assessment and evidence-based practice. 

Eastern Shore Psychological Services covers the entire Eastern Shore of Maryland and parts of Delaware with offices in Salisbury, Princess Anne, Easton, Denton and Chestertown. In addition to several school-based services, ESPS holds several federal grants for addictions and forensic services. With Kathryn Seifert PhD, whom holds a national reputation as a speaker and author of several books, as CEO; ESPS has an array of services including clinical, addictions, forensic and psychiatric rehabilitation services. All medical services are managed by Dr. Laurence Pezor, MD through all locations. 

Dr. Seifert believes that Connie will provide the necessary leadership for the Mid-Shore Programs! 

Dr. Kathryn Seifert is a leading voice internationally in the areas of trauma, violence, mental health, criminal justice and addictions. The CEO of Eastern Shore Psychological Services (ESPS), Dr. Seifert specializes in the assessment and treatment of individuals who are traumatized, at risk for violence and/or suffering from attachment problems. 

She has frequently appeared on national networks to discuss violence and mental health, appearing on Anderson Cooper 360 on CNN, the Huffington Post Live, Discovery ID, Fox News, and CBC in Canada. Dr. Seifert has written two books on the subject; the first, How Children Become (Acanthus Publishing 2006), was awarded the 2007 IPPY (Independent Book Publishers Award) bronze medal in the Psychology/Mental Health Category, and her second book, Youth Violence: Theory, Prevention, and Intervention (Springer Publishing 2011), is frequently utilized in the professional community and in college courses. 

As an expert contributor for Psychology Today, Dr. Seifert's blog, "Stop the Cycle," has amassed over 500,000 views. 

Dr. Seifert has lectured in Italy, Canada, the Netherlands, and across the United States. Past conferences and events include Maryland Psychological Association Annual Conference, Pennsylvania's NAMI Cherry Blossom Charity Ball, and the Conference on the Federal Response to Reducing Gun Violence, which took place following the Sandy Hook tragedy and was headlined by then Vice President Joe Biden.
